Security Seals

The shape, in fact, constitutes the die-cut path, and it is therefore important that it be suitable for printing otherwise the cutting of the seals could be imprecise and not uniform.

With the custom format you must be careful to:

• not create a die-cut that is too complex,
• not create a discontinuous path, but a single closed line.

The dimensions of a security seal are generally smaller than those of an adhesive label. The seal in fact has a different task, which is not informative in nature. To determine the correct dimensions, it is possible to consider various aspects:

• The type of container; the seal of a small bottle or jar will be smaller than one intended for a larger container. Remember that although small, the security seal must still be visible and clear.
• The type of closure and position; the seal must cover part of the cap and part of the container. Therefore, consider the dimensions and shape of the closure so that the seal can be applied correctly and fulfill its task well.
• The content; a security seal has a protective function. Although its content is often minimal, it may still be necessary to include more than one graphic symbol or specific information on the seal. In this case, keep in mind that you will need more space.

Once you have defined the surface that the seal will occupy, if the format is custom, measure the maximum width and length of the seal to set the right dimensions.
